THE VHPBA TARTAN

vhpba tartan.jpg

Designed for the 90th anniversary of the Victorian Highland Pipe Band Association (V.H.P.B.A.), the tartan was officially unveiled by the Chieftain, the Hon Ted Baillieu AO at the association's anniversary dinner in June 2014.

The tartan is formally registered on the Scottish Register of Tartans and a sample is held for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.

The tartan's colours are symbolic of the State of Victoria - blue and white being the state colours, the green and rustic red depicting the natural bush and gardens and gold of the wealth from mining in the 19th century and the golden history of the association.

The tartan was designed by Chris Earl.
